HÁI Career Women - Andrea Feng, a fashion model.

Andrea Feng, with her striking and deep-set features and healthy sun-kissed complexion, always captures attention at first glance! Despite her bold appearance, her demeanor is sweet and reserved, exuding an approachable aura. Even when showing a sexy side, it feels non-aggressive and natural.

However, even someone as admired as Andrea has experienced periods of self-doubt. Growing up as a Thai-Taiwanese mixed-race individual, her unique skin tone was once a source of struggle. Now living confidently as her true self, Andrea offers heartfelt and genuine advice to women everywhere.

Can you share about your work, any amusing moments, or memorable experiences?

As a model, I’ve been through all kinds of photo shoots—some you’d expect and others you wouldn’t! I’ve been to cinemas, climbed pyramids in Giza, scaled cliffs, worn a mermaid tail to pose on a rock in the sea, had German cockroaches crawl on my face, and even had a live octopus placed on my head. Looking back, it’s been thrilling and fun!

Has this job inspired or taught you anything? Has it influenced your life?

The most profound lesson has been about beauty. My appearance and skin tone have always stood out in Asia. From childhood, I was constantly teased and bullied, often being given unkind nicknames. As I grew older, I hoped the environment would change, but I realized even close friends privately referred to me by my skin tone.

I was deeply hurt but never spoke up about it. I tried everything to lighten my skin and imitated the style and look of sweet and cute girls. It wasn’t until I discovered confident influencers and celebrities on Instagram and entered the modeling industry that I began to understand how others saw my beauty. Slowly, I found my own style and confidence, which has been the most rewarding part—knowing I can inspire other girls like me.

How do you handle stress or tough times?

I consider myself lucky because my bad moods usually come and go quickly. For me, there’s nothing that acknowledging my feelings and a bucket of fried chicken can’t fix! I allow myself to lounge on the couch, order some fried chicken, and watch a movie.

But! Even when indulging, I set a limit for myself—no matter how puffy I get the next day, I make sure to get off the couch and move forward.

Do you have advice for women who want to pursue this career?

As a model, I’d say to protect yourself and ensure your rights are safeguarded.
As a KOL, I’d suggest finding your unique style and loving your life. Most importantly, change your wardrobe, makeup, or personality for yourself—not to please others.

Would you wear our swimsuits on vacation? How do they feel? What do you usually look for in swimwear?

Of course! I’d pack more than one! My favorite thing about HÁI’s swimsuits is the material—it’s soft on the skin, super lightweight, yet supportive.

When choosing swimwear, I pay special attention to the padding. I usually prefer thin padding or none at all, and I like it when the padding is removable. This makes cleaning and maintaining the swimsuit much easier, extending its lifespan.

This collaboration is themed around “chocolate.” If you were a type of chocolate, what would you be? What personality does this chocolate represent?

I think I’d be dark chocolate with black pepper. The black pepper brings out the rich aroma of the chocolate, like mint, but with a hint of spicy zest on the tongue.

How would you style a glossy chocolate-colored dress?

For a date, pair it with gold accessories to enhance the luxurious sheen of the chocolate tone!

As a natural earth tone, chocolate is perfect for vacations too. Alongside gold, you can add accessories made from natural stones, shells, or woven materials to create a more relaxed, holiday vibe.

Do you have any romantic date spots in Bangkok to recommend?

Once, my husband and I took a ferry from Wat Arun to a riverside restaurant just before sunset. It was incredibly romantic! The sky turned vibrant shades of purple, pink, and orange as the sun set, and Wat Arun across the river lit up in golden lights—it was stunning.

Here’s a little tip: when planning, find a riverside restaurant you want to visit and leave your email or LINE to pre-book a deposit for an outdoor riverside seat. On Valentine’s Day, they often have special menus!

If you have time, like we did, take a ten-minute walk after dinner to Pak Khlong Talad (the Flower Market) and buy a bouquet as a romantic end to your date.

Are there any popular places Thai couples like to visit for holidays or dates?

I’d personally recommend the islands in Thailand for a romantic getaway. Everything is natural, free from the city’s hustle and bustle, and the slower pace allows couples to connect deeply and understand each other better.
